two more cats...here is the original motif Maske in the background ...he was so curious when i was out shooting..
this photo-set is still waiting for scanning...cause i used my blackbird cam except on this single one...im so eager to see the result i dont know why i distress myself insisting on using analogue for it
anyway...the thought is to use some of the pictures and also selling the cat-stuffies getting a little money for the local wild-cat protection program
(but im not too eager selling them cause i have so much fun playing still)
this is a piece finished off and delivered to Gallery S12 in Bergen for a collaboration work for exhibition that opens next weekend...it going to be a huge chandelier with alot of different objects attached to it...i dont have any deep thoughts for this one...i like reptiles and i like the idea of catching stars on my tongue like snowflakes...its made from stained porcelain and decorated with gold and some fake diamonds in the eyes...to catch some light there as well
references to the song...of course...lets call her Lucy and hope that she be well up there
;)
(no...im NOT in a good mood...im just putting the face there to look up-lifting)
not a day too soon the pieces of ideas start fitting together and ive started the modelling for exhibition in Kunstnerforbundet in January with Torill Rendalen and Katrine Kølster Holst...which is gonna be great cause these girls are as great artists as they are fab girls.
The size of this (space landing vehicle) is now 38 mm at highest point...which means after firing it will be about 3mm high. It takes between 20 and 30 minutes to make it and although there is going to be just one in the installation i will have to make about 10 different models with at least two copies of the best. If i dont feel stomac sick and having my shoulders in my ears when im done with one object it means ive havent given enoug...on other side if i notice before im done then i havent had enough concentration :)
i estimate for the whole exhibition ill have to make at least 100 different insect-sized vehicles
today i finally got lights in my studio so i thought i celebrate it with a picture from my working-table this summer, before my kiln was installed....anyway...i love to draw with ink, and one of my major inspiration is older botanical and zoological material...this is an important part of my process and just a thing i love doing...passion is the word therefore the choice of motif
these are re-making of an older model...i try to make pieces now for multiply use...in meaning they can both work as wall-pieces and sculptures...some of them are already out in the stores http://www.format.no/
today im working on a few on these...they,ve got new noses since this pic was taken by the way...they got porcelain teeths and claws...and some eyes im very happy to have found...handmade from england
also im modeling a mare-eater...should be going down to continue that rightaway...
